It is really cold outside again, so I got out my SD sized doll and tried her new eyes out. If you stumble upon this and don't like doll family pictures, warning this is obsessive. I like this doll like Barbie on steroids. I got her second hand awhile back. I thought her eyes were beautiful but so dark I could barely tell they were blue. I
was looking for pale grey because they seem to take on colors from her
surroundings like a mirror. The first grey eyes I tried are beautiful but a bit
too dark to achieve the reflection of light that I was looking for.
I
like the grey glittery ones next best.
The eyes make her look so much like an antique doll picture. These eyes are almost the same as the grey ones above but have specks like glitter in them.
The bright blue eyes really shine. They got me dreaming of BJD Barbie someday. They really got the staring doll-eyed look for sure.
Here she is just relaxing on my new Pinzon faux fur blanket. She's thinking how soft and plush the new blanket is.
Now these eyes are just right. They are pale blue-grey with the lines in them. They somehow seem to be the most natural to me. The photos are a little too close, but I was really studying them to see which ones I want to keep. I noticed when I go away for a few minutes and then come back and look, I really like them. I look too hard sometimes.
I think now I have some confidence in piercing doll ears, she will get her ears pierced. I was just too worried I might damage her. I think it is best to practice on a much less expensive doll for sure. Then on to the body blushing...
