Tonner Annora Monet Blank Resin BJD

The blank 16" Annora Monet America BJD really sparks my imagination. She could be an innocent teen going on her first date to a classy model moving to the big city on her own. She has 19 points of articulation and she can wear slim MSD clothes.  What more can you ask for in a doll.  All this for under 300 dollars.
The box is creative in appearance. I didn't leave the doll inside long enough to do a box opening. I immediately started carrying her around to see what all I could dress her with and start her new life here.
The doll didn't have a tag or COA. It has Robert Tonner 2017 stamped on the head cap and body. There was also a lovely white satin bag to carry a doll in the bottom of her box. I believe the box has magnetic closure, because it feels like it snaps shut when I close it.

I was dying to know what shoes she wears. Annora has bendable ankles but her arches are very high. So even when I bend the foot as close to flat as I can, she still has heels. I did manage to put her in some flat shoes that Minifee A-line can wear. It disguises the foot but she doesn't stand as well like that. Maybe if I put inserts in the shoe? Update: Annora stands really well in any shoe that fits her. I had her standing on my art pad while I was moving all around her and she just stood there looking at me like "dah".
Her foot is a bit longer and maybe a hair wider than Tyler Wentworth. This next photo shows Tyler's shoes don't work.
Annora can wear Delilah Noir's platform shoes. And she can stand in them. This means she can wear Tonner 16” DeeAnna Denton, but I don't have any to see.

This next photo shows Annora standing on her own in platform shoes. She really stands well right out of her box.
When I opened the super nice box. I knew right away this was the direction I was looking for in a doll. The eye sockets are natural sized and not so exaggerated. I love this about Annora a lot. I really love realistic dolls and Annora seems to answer my quest--at least the one I can afford. The translucent resin is super thick and heavy. The color is like peachy and gorgeous.  She holds a pose exact without much effort at all.

I noticed she doesn't have seams. She is high quality resin and no seams. I'm thinking this must be the benchmark of quality.

The fingers are all separate with no flashing. She could wear a ring, if I wanted to make her a tiny one or two. She has nails that could be painted.

I put a wig on her and some 10mm eyes with 6mm pupils. I realized she's very juvenile looking like a teenager. Maybe that's just how I imagined her all along.

She will definitely get pierced ears.
I tried on an outfit made for a Gooreau MIM doll.
It fits just right. It looks really cute.

The shoes look good ane she stands in them too. She' trying on wigs now.

Jewelry Sets for 1/4 Scale BJDs and Fashion Dolls

I made jewelry sets for my dolls today. I actually made extras and the link to buy them is at the bottom of this post. I was just thinking about the scale of the ABJD vs. the American BJD and Tonner Tyler. I thought the same sets would look good on all the dolls, so I made a set for each doll and extras. The photos below show how the ears can be pierced differently on each doll and how the earrings look on the different dolls. Start with my Mirwen doll.

 My Unoa doll.

 My Tonner Tyler Wentworth doll.

And even my cute little Goodreau Make It Mine doll Taylor. has been getting a makeover these days. I finally got her eyelashes to stay put. I used 3M putty to hold her eyes in, because I like the glass eyes better than the ones that came with her. Oops, they look a little wonky. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079QMHP48

Doll Pictures on Rainy Days

Freezing rain kept me inside today. Plus my onion seeds aren't here yet. I played around with dolls for a little while.
I tried PongPong on a 1:12 scale Indian Motorcycle. That's an old-timey gas tank behind her.
I found some Blythe sneakers to put on my tinies. They remind me of the Peanuts cartoon, because they're so big. The shoe strings need replacing, so I can tie them.

I switched styles on Lusis and Mirwen. Wow! What a difference a new hairstyle makes. I measured the two dolls to see what the have in common. Lusis can wear the same shoes but her foot is about 2 mm wider. So the shoes are snug. The small bust piece is the same as Mirwen's at 6.1". Mirwen's waist is 4.7" and Lusis' is 5". Lusis is taller. I think they have similar eye sizes. Lusis looks more like a porcelain doll from decades ago. Also, she would make a good model for doll clothes to fit slim MSD's. I got her lips glossed too. The more I do with her, the more I like her.
I hope the weather is better tomorrow. I must go take an online class now about environment, mainly water--very thought-provoking.

The Junky Spot box opening

I always wanted to order from The Junky Spot. I saw chocolate dolls and broke down. I also got an Obitsu 11cm doll with elf ears. These dolls are perfect for the 12th scale dollhouse cabin. I didn't buy any eyes or accessories to go with them yet. So this is just about opening the box and what's inside.
I was totally amazed that I got my order within the week. I thought it would be like months of waiting.

This first doll is Hujoo Ted in chocolate skin. I believe these dolls are made from ABS plastic. I haven't managed to get the head open yet but I will. I will go to the junkyspot.com site and read about it again. I think they have pegs inside.

I noticed a little bit of the stringing is hanging out. That's cool. The doll has so many joints for such a tiny doll. Next, is the Obitsu 11 cm body and Paxabox elf head in fleshtone. At first I thought the skin tone didn't match but it does.

The head is flexible and just squeezed right onto the body without much push at all.

The package contains extra hands and adapters for folks wanting to use different body or heads. The head cap goes on with just a squeeze and a turn. The doll has eye cups for glass or acrylic 8mm eyes.

The really cool thing is the magnets in the feet. They are like Fairyland dolls and can stick to metal.

Here is the doll standing up on my Harbor Freight shears with magnets. Hope I don't stick him somewhere and lose him.

This next photo shows the difference in Obitsu/Parabox and Hujoo sizes. Hujoo is bigger with a bigger head.

We got free prizes too--a yellow dog I think I'll name ol' yellow. The dog is perfect to the doll's scale too.
 The dog's head is poseable.
The dog's head comes apart like a bjd and has an eye plate for its beady little black eyes. So cool. I wonder what other colors can be had?

A big treat like a gummy bear?

Choosing eyes for my 1/3 scale BJD Magical Angel SD

It is really cold outside again, so I got out my SD sized doll and tried her new eyes out. If you stumble upon this and don't like doll family pictures, warning this is obsessive. I like this doll like Barbie on steroids. I got her second hand awhile back. I thought her eyes were beautiful but so dark I could barely tell they were blue. I was looking for pale grey because they seem to take on colors from her surroundings like a mirror. The first grey eyes I tried are beautiful but a bit too dark to achieve the reflection of light that I was looking for.

I like the grey glittery ones next best.  The eyes make her look so much like an antique doll picture. These eyes are almost the same as the grey ones above but have specks like glitter in them.

The bright blue eyes really shine. They got me dreaming of BJD Barbie someday. They really got the staring doll-eyed look for sure.

Here she is just relaxing on my new  Pinzon faux fur blanket. She's thinking how soft and plush the new blanket is.

Now these eyes are just right. They are pale blue-grey with the lines in them. They somehow seem to be the most natural to me. The photos are a little too close, but I was really studying them to see which ones I want to keep. I noticed when I go away for a few minutes and then come back and look, I really like them. I look too hard sometimes.

I think now I have some confidence in piercing doll ears, she will get her ears pierced. I was just too worried I might damage her. I think it is best to practice on a much less expensive doll for sure. Then on to the body blushing...
