I finished beading my Doll Chateau string bikini bottoms this weekend. Making the bikini bottoms was a real task, because the doll doesn't have any fat to tighten the strings into it. I don't use patterns. I work by what I see like sculpting. So when I tied the bikini on her it fell off to her feet. So I had to go back and decrease around the top to cause it to fit her shape. It turned out puckered a little but I almost tossed the project as a learning experience. I have been reading that the doll's body shape is unique. I also read that bottoms are extra difficult to find.
For the first tutu, I put it on a hammered copper wire instead of elastic. I made little circles on the ends to put jewelry. My original idea was to have her dressed like a fairy in some faraway fairy kingdom. I put the jewelry on the tutu with the bikini still on her.
Then I tried the jewelry without the bottoms. I like the look more. I think I will need to learn to make her tights like a ballerina.

I have been working on clothes for my Doll Chateau Stacey ever since I got her. I finished her top with string bikini bottoms, barefoot sandals and tutu. I even hammered her a copper bracelet. I am working on jewelry for her now.

I would love to give her body blush sometime when I am finished making her work as a poor mannequin.

Most Amazing Doll Ever, Doll Chateau: Nude Dolls
I got Doll Chateau Stacy today by Express Airmail from China. This is definitely nicer than most I have
ever seen on youtube or in my whole life. My doll hunt is over. I will never love another doll as much as this one.  My doll posed right out of the box. The face up looks almost identical to prototype photos. I am so happy!

  1. Doll stands really well on carpet. I am still finding it more difficult to pose her on smooth surfaces.
  2. All joints were poseable, fingers and toes.
  3. I received green eyes  and was expecting to see her eyebrows like her prototype. This would work well with strawberry blonde hair.
  4. I bought her a  French human hair Doll Wig, and was overjoyed that it matched her face up so well.
  5. Her butt is not nearly as large as it looks in the photos. I think the angle of the cameras makes her look like she has a huge rear. She is so skinny and lovely.
  6. I love her extra neck joint that I have not seen in any other type of doll. I think it makes her look unique.
  7. I love her tiny ears because they look so elf-like. I would like to pierce them when I get the guts to drill into such an expensive resin doll. Reminder: wear dust mask when carving resin.
  8. Speaking of resin, she did smell like fresh chemicals right out of the box. She did get here 2 days after she was finished. I don't know what the chemical smell is, because I have had resin dolls before that didn't smell at all. I know the smell will eventually wear off.
  9. She does not have body blush or tattoos but I didn't like the tats at all. That's why I chose this one over Christina. I thought Christina had the bigger more beautiful eyes. But now I think Stacy had a more natural look and not the doll-stare that is so haunting at times it makes me laugh.
  10. Her nose is slightly turned up and looks so cute. It gives her more of a youth look.

Tiny Tyltyl doll is next to Stacy's foot.  These dolls both are white resin. But they look almost like a pale normal yellow to me. Maybe it is the lighting but I see that in the dolls except for pink skin Impldoll.
This photo is Stacey's jointed foot with the detail of the toenail. It is amazing how detailed she looks to me.
Her jointed fingers make it so she can pose her hands and wear jewelry. Love the teeth also, she's just so sweet.
Here she is next to a 22" American Model by Tonner. I crocheted the lovely top right on Milady's body. Then tried the top on Stacy today.

Definitely not what I was looking for on Stacey. The natural cotton and lurex looks dark against the white skin of Stacey. Plus it fits too loosely. At least now I know the white skin really downplays the lurex lace. I probably won't use it to make things for Stacey. Notice how Tonner doll is built like perfect proportions. I didn't realize how real she looks till I put her next to resin BJDs. There's a world of difference in the American and Asian dolls. I still like the imagination of elves and fairies. The dolls are just so otherworldly.

    Fantasy vs. Fashion.

I got another RealPuki, only this time a little Sira. I realized my first RealPuki SoSo is quite different than the second one. SoSo is a recast. I kind of knew but had never purchased a recast. The difference is the magnetic hands and feet can be changed just by taking them off on the Sira doll. But not so much on the SoSo doll. I love them both equally.
My poor SoSo tried on a hundred pair of shoes this week and is exhausted. I have already played with the doll so much that it needs restringing. Poor SoSo just hangs on my big girl's hand. Now my little T wants me to get back to work on my dollhouses. She wants to play dolls with the new elfin fairies.

Practicing on my first resin face up
I practiced with watercolor paints so it would be easy to wash off, if I choose to change the face paint. I kind of like it. I will prefer to seal it with a matte finish, because I can see the reflection of his ear on his face in the picture below. I had planned to give him a dark blond wig, but I think he would be cute if he had his own carrot colored wig.

The only carrot color I have don't really fit him but the color has me thinking this is the perfect color for my elf.
I want to give him long pretty lashes when I finally decide on the finish and seal him. I am hoping to get a girl Tyltyl to go with him. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I need to see some videos on taming his wig, and maybe I'll leave the other girls alone. I stole all their wigs to see what a good hairdo would look like on him or a Tyltyl doll.

I couldn't wait to make things for my dear little Realpuki doll. I started with making another yarn wig. I added a dress I made from vintage thread. I found that Kelly doll shoes fit Realpuki doll. The shoes also fit Middie Blyte. I didn't make pictures of my Middie Blythe yet, but will. It snowed today in North Carolina. Temperatures get into the 70's and a day or two later, snowing. It gives me an excuse to make a few more things before I start working outside on my dollhouse building.

5stardoll Mia has her new doll SoSo.
She says: "I've decided I'm not too old to play with dolls".
I made a tiny wig with a piece of stretchy Martha Stewart lace and some eyelash chenille. Not bad for a first wig. But now I got the feel for it, I can see ways to improve.

Tiny doll house folks, LPS Blythe, AI doll customized, Docolla Black Butler Sebastian Taeyang doll have a new family member--SoSo elf.
SoSo elf has quite a few poses. I have played with it ever since it came. SoSo has magnets in its hands and feet but stands well without metal under the feet.

Verne still needs a face up.
