New BJD to Make Doll Stuff For Her

I got this beautiful new 23" Ball Jointed Doll (BJD) doll this past week. I haven't had an opportunity to make her clothes and buy her wigs yet. So, I have put her in some handmade American Girl (AG) doll hand-me-downs. The AG clothes are loose and short for her but it will do for now. The AG dress is short like a blouse and the leggings are short like capris. I had some AG shoes that didn't fit well on AG Julie, but they fit this doll as long as they have straps across the top, because AG girl has wider feet. The straps help tighten the shoes.  The AG girl clothes just make her look so playful like she has on her sister's hand-me-downs.

She is playing with a Littlest Pet Shop Blythe doll, wearing Barbie glasses. I have ordered a neo Blythe doll and I thought it would look cute for my BJD to have her own Blythe. I changed the doll's focus to look directly at me. I like that better than the far off stare she had. Something about the eyes and being able to change them really matters to me. The eyes should focus on what she is doing.

This doll is strung with elastic, poseable, stands on her on, can wear new eyes, new wigs and different shoes like high heels or flats. The feet have springs in the toes so her feet are adjustable, but the springs are so tight I couldn't manage them with my fingers. But as soon as I slipped on the heeled shoes, they fit perfect. I am not that good at posing dolls, because I just got into this type of doll in recent months. Posing them is fun as you get more experienced. Frustrating if you don't try it out enough. It is time consuming to work with these dolls.

I have been building doll houses this year, since the winter storm Jonas. I fell down brick stairs on a solid sheet of ice. I was lucky I just got battered and not broken. But the building has helped me get my full range-of-motion and stay active and heal. Once I got started building, I got hooked.

I had a dollhouse in progress in my kitchen when I got this doll. I don't have a dollhouse for any dolls bigger than 12th scale, but my new BJD went right over and got mini Blythe out and decided the new dollhouse is hers for her Blythe.

I think I will name my new girl Little T. I will buy her some hair that looked like mine when I was a little girl--short white dutch boy style with bangs--or maybe blonde.  Would she be cute?
I also really like the range-of motion for these dolls. Her head looks up to me and down to her doll.
