Cute Neo Blythe

Oct.4, 2016
I am still working on a doll house for 2 months. I had always dreamed of having the time to make a dollhouse and now I just say "take time". Back in college I made a couple of pieces of furniture, but time was scarce and the hobby is pricey.  I found this old kit from the 70's that no one wanted anymore and it was pretty cheap for a manor. The price reflects the quality as always. I am so close to getting the wrap around porch done. I have the house upside down while I work on it. You see my Blythe is demanding I do one on the 1/6 scale for her.

I have used over 1300 popsicle sticks in this dollhouse just to make it look better. It was so warped and full of gaps. I made real marble floors colored grout. I stained the popsicles sticks with some weathered oak. The box it came in had one worn out picture and no instructions. It didn't have inside trim for the windows either. So I have been tracing around parts and using my Dremel to make the missing pieces. I had rather have this anyhow. I like being more original than a kit.

I must get done soon though, because in cold weather I like to crochet and make doll hats and scarves (and some for me too).

This Neo Blythe doll is so cute. She is called a "factory" Blythe. I chose her for her jointed body. I like dolls that pose. I also like the matte skin more than shiny. She fits a lot of Barbie things, but her feet are too big for most Barbie shoes. I have ordered her some cute Blythe shoes. She came with what I think was Monster High shoes. They are sweet but just not the styles I like most. Her hair is blonde with a pink tint. I think the 4 eye colors are the standard blue, green, grey, orangish-brown. Her fingers make it hard to put her in tiny Barbie sleeves. Some Barbie clothes are too long. I think the hands can be removed, but she's fine as far as I'm concerned. She's just too young to get any work done. She'll have to wait.

As of October 18, 2016 this is where I am on the outside of the vintage dollhouse. I took it to my outdoors workbench to cut more 3 Dimensional porch posts from dowel rods. They are next to be sanded, painted and glued in place. I really liked the more 3D looking posts than just flat like what was in the original pictures of the porch.

I painted the windows with Plaid glitter glass paint to make them look like they are frosted. Sometimes I daydream about having the house all decorated with Christmas garlands and mini lights.
I have quite a bit of trimming to go and the it's time to get up all the fall leaves around here. Maybe in the cold weather I will make some cute decorations for the inside. I like making curtains and rugs. I am so excited about this. I will probably have to sell it when done, because I am running out of room for my projects.
November 5, 2016 I made a couple of things for my Blythe dolls. I wire-wrapped seed beads to a small size barrette and put it on my Peach (her new name) Blythe doll. I made her a stretchy bracelet and a small wire necklace with painted focal bead that seems to match very well.
She is wearing Heidi Ott male shoes for loafers. I was surprised the shoes from 1/12th scale fit her so well. She has bigger feet than my latest Blythe. I found that the jointed body wears shoes like Monster High doll shoes. She can also wear Pullip boots but they are kind of large looking.  My latest Blythe has the bending knees that click. She wears Barbie shoes, which are fairly cheap but look great on the doll. This is really fun making things for dolls.

Perhaps a little too much green.
